The LHMM places such a high value on the lives of Russell and Johnson that it approaches worship. At times they set up special memorial services to honor their death long after they have been gone. Why wouldn’t one do this for the Apostle Paul for example? After all, he wrote a large portion of the Bible. Russell and Johnson were not even inspired.
Some LHMM followers and many Bible Students hang a picture of Russell on the wall of their homes. It’s interesting to note that these same people often do not have an image of Jesus on the wall. Who is more important?

I am affiliated with the LHMM, and have never worshipped Pastor Russell or Johnson... hmmmmm... we have in our congregation had such meetings memorializing the life and works of the Apostle Paul, other Apostles, and other great reformers all the way down to and including the two brothers above mentioned. I do have numerous images of Jesus hanging in my home... and none of the two brothers above, although I do have Melanchthon and Luther hanging there. I wonder where this site comes from... it would seem that your research on the subject is wanting... I'd be glad to field any questions on the LHMM a.k.a., Bible Standard Ministries.... It is NOT an organization... it is a movement...
Actually, most of the images, or pictures, of Jesus that we see today are most usually not pictures of Jesus, since, in actuality, it is not known that anyone ever drew a likeness of Jesus while Jesus was alive, although there is one picture I remember seeing that is claimed to be an actual picture of Jesus. Most of the pictures are from artists' conceptions, even as we might find pictures of Moses, Abraham, Isaac, etc. These are somebody's imaginative representations that are conjured up to represent those people. No one today knows "for sure" what Jesus looked like, what Abraham looked, what Moses looked like, etc.
I am a Bible Student. No, I don't have a picture of Brother Russell on my wall, but then, again, I don't have any pictures at all my walls except for those come with a calendar.
I view Brother Russell as a fellow-servant whom God has used to bring many truths from the Bible. I do not worship, nor do I depend solely on what he has written. I follow Brother Russell only in that Russell leads me to Christ, and the truths pertaining to Christ.
However, I do believe that it possible for a Bible Student to elevate Brother Russell to high, especially if one places his writings above scripture. Each servant of Christ, however, will have to stand before Christ for his own work, whether it be good or bad.
Christian love,
Ronald
This "creature worship" used to also be in the original Bible Student group that became Jehovah's Witnesses. However, they saw the danger of giving undue honor - "reverence" or "creature worship" - to any mere human no matter how much he may have been used by the Lord Jehovah. The worship of brother Russell - and to a smaller degree, Rutherford - was put to an end, scripturally, many years ago. It plagues them no longer.
If you know Russell is not the F/S. Does that mean that you know who is? Why did Jesus make that statement?

I just came across this comment today.
I believe any one who proves himself faithful and wise in providing food to fellow servants a needed fulfills he role of being a faithful and wise servant.
Jesus gave the parable of the four servants for the purpose of admonishing faithfulness.
See my studies:

Evidently, this is posted by one associated with the JWs. While those Bible Students that accepted Rutherford's "Jehovah's visible organization" dogma did take the name "Jehovah's Witnesses", the vast majority of the Bible Students did not become "Jehovah's Witnesses".
At any rate, most of the JWs do indeed look to the men in Brooklyn as their means of salvation. The GB itself has stated that one must come to their organization for salvation, thus at least placing themselves in between Christ and those following the the GB, if not actually replacing Christ.
